Carry out your first classification

    Getting started

    1

    Open the Classify page

From the side menu, click “Classify”. Single-item classification uses the same engine as bulk import.

    2

    Identify and describe the item

Enter its mandatory reference, then describe the object, its construction, its materials with their shares, the gender and the use when you know them. The reference is the item's key in your catalogue; it is never used to determine its code.

    • Fictitious example: reference PULL-001, “Women's knitted pullover, 70% wool, 30% polyamide”
    • A photo can be attached: it is only used to observe visible properties

    Choose the destination

Select a jurisdiction: European Union (CN/TARIC), United Kingdom, United States, Norway or Canada.

    Read the result

The engine applies the General Interpretative Rules (GIR) in order, from the section down to the national code. It stops on a final code, or on a question if a necessary fact is missing. It never guesses a code.

Answering the question resumes the classification where it stopped, without starting over.
