EORI, REX and signatory for customs invoices

    Invoices and documents

    1

    Where to enter them

Account menu, “My company”, “Information” tab, “Customs invoices” card. First complete the company's billing information. Only a super user can change this information.

    2

    EORI number

Required to produce an invoice. The “Check with the Commission” button queries the European Commission's EORI validation service.

    • Number not recognised: customs invoices cannot be produced until it is corrected
    • Service unavailable: automatic retry every day; invoices remain possible
    3

    REX number

Optional. It is used for the preferential origin statement (United Kingdom, Norway, Canada). From Shopify, without a REX number, the statement is not printed.

    4

    Signatory

Name and title of the signatory. On an invoice produced from Shopify, they complete the dated declaration “I declare that the information on this invoice is true and correct”; for the United States, this name is also shown as the exporter's responsible employee. These invoices also show the contact email and phone number in the exporter block.

    5

Printing the preferential origin statement by default

The “Print the preferential origin declaration by default” option is off by default. Turn it on only if your items qualify for preferential origin: you can always exclude an item on the invoice. Never for the United States.

For the United Kingdom, the option only applies to items concluded “Qualifies” on their product sheet. See the article “Preferential origin: the product sheet card”.
