Prepare a customs invoice

    Invoices and documents

    1

    When to use it

The “My orders” page brings together your orders outside the European Union and their customs invoices. The customs invoice depends on your plan; the table on the Pricing page is the reference. If your company is billed through Shopify, it is included.

    2

    Create an invoice

In “My orders”, click “New invoice”. The wizard has four steps:

    • Choose the destination country
    • Select the products already classified for that destination
    • Adjust each line: origin, quantity, unit, unit price, net weight
    • Fill in the headers (number, date, currency, Incoterm, exporter, importer), then click “Generate invoice”
    3

    Blocking checks

The status of each product is calculated from its product sheet, for the invoice destination. A single product left to complete blocks the invoice: it is never removed, no PDF is produced and nothing is debited. Possible reasons:

    • incomplete or non-final code, or a pending classification question
    • product to be rechecked after a change
    • regulatory requirements not checked, a pending question or an import ban
    • missing data: designation, unit price, currency, unit, net weight or country of origin (2-letter ISO code)

Each reference links to its product sheet. The “Complete these products” link opens the “Finalise my products” page, filtered on those products.

    4

    Cost

Generating the invoice costs 1 credit, shown before you confirm. An invoice unchanged since its last generation is not debited again; any change to the invoice or its lines counts as a new invoice. A blocked or incomplete invoice, or a generation that fails, debits nothing.

    5

    Shipping to the United States

The place of sale, the date of sale and the name of the responsible employee are mandatory. The port of entry is optional: if left empty, the invoice reads “to be completed by the carrier”. Each item must have a confirmed English description and a manufacturer ID (MID): enter the manufacturer's name and address in the product sheet's “Commerce & logistics” section, then confirm them. No preferential origin statement is printed.

    6

    Language

The invoice is bilingual English / French: headings, sections and statements. The description on each line is taken from the product sheet; for the United States, it is the confirmed English description.

    7

    Review and sign

The invoice is a drafting aid, prepared from your data. The Name, Title, Date and Signature fields are left blank, marked “to be completed by the declarant”. Review it before sending and sign it: as the exporter, you remain solely responsible for its content.

    8

    Download the PDF

The “All invoices” tab lists the invoices of the active company, including those produced from Shopify. The “PDF” button opens the file in a new tab; PDFs are stored privately. “Regenerate” reruns an invoice created on the website.
