CPSC certificate (United States): rules and file for the Product Registry

    What the card is for

Some products imported into the United States must be covered by a CPSC certificate of compliance: a General Certificate of Conformity (GCC) or, for a product intended for children 12 or under, a Children's Product Certificate (CPC). Since 8 July 2026, the certificate data is filed electronically at import. The “CPSC certificate” card in the United States tab helps you prepare this data. It is included in the Premium and Pro plans, with no credit used.

    2

    Where to find it

On the product sheet, United States tab, once the code is confirmed.

    Rules suggested from the code

CrossbordIA matches the US code against the official list of covered codes published by the CPSC (January 2026) and suggests the rules of the matching category, with their official titles. For a children's product, the general rules are added: lead content, paint, phthalates, small parts. For each rule, answer Yes, No or I don't know.

    • “I don't know” never concludes: nothing is prepared while an answer is uncertain; your testing laboratory can help
    • For toys, tick the ASTM F963 sections from your test report
    • If the code is not on the CPSC list, you are asked a single question: is the product subject to a CPSC rule?

    Certificate data

The card lists the six elements required by the regulation (16 CFR 1110.11) and those still missing: product identification, rules certified, certifier, person maintaining test records, date and place of manufacture, testing and laboratories (or testing exclusion). The manufacturer is taken from “Commerce & logistics”; its MID appears once its address is confirmed.

    5

    File for the Product Registry

When all elements are filled in, you can download a CSV file in the format of the official CPSC guide, to import yourself into your Product Registry collection. A CPSC review screen appears before the import. Before downloading, you tick: “I remain solely responsible for this certificate and for filing it with the CPSC.” This confirmation is recorded with the date.

    6

    What CrossbordIA does not do

CrossbordIA prepares the data: it does not certify, does not sign the attestation and sends nothing to the CPSC. The certifier (manufacturer or importer) remains solely responsible for the certificate and for filing it.
